Dr. Errol Sweet established Desert Eye Specialists in 1976.  Over the years, his enthusiasm and commitment to providing the highest quality eye care in a truly personal way to his patients has created the patient friendly environment that has characterized our office.  Dr. Ofer Eytan joined the practice in 1996 and Dr. Anne Zaki joined the practice in 2016.

Our doctors are certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology.  Dr. Eytan and Dr. Zaki continue to enhance their education and skills by regularly attending seminars and courses and thereby are able to provide their patients with the latest and most effective developments in ophthalmology.

Besides providing comprehensive ophthalmology services, Dr. Eytan and Dr. Zaki have a special interest in performing cataract surgery and use the most advanced techniques currently available, including laser-assisted cataract surgery. In an effort to reduce pre-existing astigmatism and make our patients less dependent on glasses following their operation, they offers those considering surgery the “Toric” intraocular lens. In addition for those who prefer not to wear glasses for near work like reading as well as for distance, “Presbyopic” or “near-far” intraocular lenses are available.

The primary motivation in our office has always been to provide the best possible eye-care in a supportive environment. To that end, the most sophisticated technology is used in our office for your examinations and afterwards any concerns and questions about the health of your eyes will be discussed with you by our doctors and staff. Our staff is very important in creating the environment necessary for your experience and several members of the staff have been in our office for over 30 years. In the ever changing and complex world of medicare regulations and different insurance plans, our front office personnel will make every effort to accommodate and assist you.
